Three-Tier drug Benefit

Drugs in the three-tier benefit structure are divided into three groups:

  • First tier: Generic, lowest copay
  • Second tier: Preferred brand-name drugs, slightly higher copay
  • Third tier: Nonpreferred brand-name drugs, highest copay

Drug Lists

The Commonly Prescribed Drug List features generic and lower-cost, brand-name drugs, and can assist you and your provider in selecting a drug that meets your health needs and cost considerations. Some prescription drugs may result in higher out-of-pocket costs for you and your family. This guide may help you lower those prescription drug costs.
