Starmark Delivers Solution for Brokers Seeking More Time for Sales Activities and for Employers Looking for Greater Convenience Introducing Online Health Plan Enrollment Through Express Connect® Lake Forest, Ill., March 6, 2008 – Starmark has delivered a solution to brokers wanting to spend more time selling health plans to small groups and less time enrolling them: secure online enrollment through Express Connect. The solution also provides employers and employees more convenience than ever during health plan enrollment. Online enrollment allows brokers to carve out more time in their days for sales, because fewer administrative functions are required and they do not have to go back and forth to groups to clarify information. In addition, with online enrollment, brokers do not have to distribute or collect paper employee enrollment forms.
“We streamlined health plan enrollment when we launched Express Connect with a telephone enrollment process,” said Dave Flores, Vice President, Sales, Starmark. “Now, when employer groups select the new online enrollment option through Express Connect, brokers get more time to provide service, stay in touch with clients and reach out to prospects.”
Employers will find online enrollment to be fast, easy, secure and more accurate than paper because information is typed rather than written. “Online enrollment also makes health plan enrollment more convenient than ever for employees,” Flores said. “Employees can apply at anytime during their group’s enrollment period. They simply go online from any computer with Internet access on the job or at home, where they have easy access to medical information. Plus, online enrollment is secure and HIPAA compliant. Medical information submitted online is safeguarded for each employee’s privacy and protection.”
Employees will appreciate the Express Connect features that make online enrollment easy. For example, an employee who needs to stop during the enrollment process can come back to finish it later, simply by clicking on the “save” button before closing. When the employee returns to finish, Express Connect brings him back to the same page where he left off.
Easy keyboard tabbing takes an employee through a medical questionnaire that initially requires yes/no answers to questions about medical conditions for himself and his dependents. When an employee answers “yes” to a certain medical condition, Express Connect automatically generates a screen with additional questions about treatment.
For groups that do not have access to the Internet, Starmark continues to offer telephone enrollment through Express Connect or paper enrollment. Starmark can also offer any combination of the three enrollment options – online, telephone and paper – if that best meets the needs of any individual employer group in most states. Express Connect is not available in Montana or Wisconsin.
